A Wash and Set is a term used commonly within the African American culture to describe a service performed on the hair. The service can be described simply as having your hair washed, conditioned, dried, and curled. Wash and Sets can be received in most hair salons. Although a wash and set can be done as frequently as an individual likes, it is typically only done every week or for some every two weeks. ==Steps for Performing A Wash and Set== #Wash Hair thoroughly and towel dry. #Apply conditioner of choice and allow the conditioner to sit for 5–10 minutes. #Rinse conditioner from hair and towel dry. Then you have to shake your hair and dry it all up. #Set Hair: Gently comb all tangles from hair, apply setting lotion of choice.
